Success Academy Director
Dear Success Academy Families,
I’m Tabitha Simpson, an Elizabeth City native, wife, and mother of two young daughters. Early Childhood Education has been a passion of mine that began 15 years ago during my Senior year in High School. My career path leading to a preschool director has been a little untraditional yet fitting to meet the unique needs of the vibrant learning community here at Success Academy.
"Today, I couldn’t be happier to become a member of the Success Academy team. This community has been instrumental in my role as an educator and my understanding of high caliber early childhood education."
I began my secondary education studying Early Childhood Education at East Carolina University. I have continued my education at Elizabeth City State University with a focus in Family and Community Services. I have taught both Preschool and Kindergarten in several private preschools and schools in Elizabeth City over the past 15 years. I also had the opportunity to lead one of those preschools as director for one school year. As both a teacher and director, I enjoy working closely with parents in promoting best practices to support their child’s development.
Today, I couldn’t be happier to become a member of the Success Academy team. This community has been instrumental in my role as an educator and my understanding of high caliber early childhood education. With my experience and educational background, I am confident I, along with the wonderful staff of Success Academy, will meet the growing educational needs of this community through our center. I look forward to sharing my passion for education while continuing to learn alongside the children, families, and teachers of Success Academy.
This year we will offer toddler gymnastics as part of our program!
